        Disequilibrium in the number of vehicles creates traffic jam problems over the years and it is unfinished yet. The traffic jam is getting worse because the large number of vehicles is more than the capacity of the road. This often happens in the streets of major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, etc. One of the major cities experiencing severe traffic jam is Jakarta because there are too many vehicles whereas the street is never widened. Traffic jam gives many impacts to Jakarta in terms of activities, social environment, and economy.

     The traffic jam in Jakarta undeniably disturb the activities of people who want to work or go to school. The traffic jam results in long time to drive. Because of traffic jam, the same distance when in normal circumstances can be reached in 1 hour, become 2 hours even 4 hours. So people have lost 1 hour to drive in the road. Be sides, traffic jam also makes people waste their time and feel bored when they are waiting in the middle of traffic jam.

        The second impacts of traffic jam in terms of environmental and social issues. Increasing the number of vehicles from year to year would increase the levels of pollution in the air too. Air pollution is very harmful for bikers and pedestrians because it could lead to a variety of illness such as cold, cough, lung disorders, fatigue, stress, and emotional disturbances. The air pollution is significantly become barrier to supply blood to the brain, celebral cortex, and flia cells in the brain which can cause long-term harm.        The third impacts of traffic jam in terms of economy. For workers who live in Jakarta, time is very valuable. People who work as entrepreneurs or traders have lost the opportunity in their businesses.
